I started out photographing six years ago in the photojournalism world for newspapers and magazines in Portland, Oregon. I spent a lot of time at the beginning of my career working with businesses to create advertisements for their products. This allowed me to become creative with lighting and forced me to adapt to any lighting situations. While I primarily shoot on-location, I always have my studio lighting equipment on hand so that each photograph has the same attention to detail as it would in a studio.

While I love capturing families, children, and advertising shots, photographing weddings is where my heart lies. During a wedding, I am able to bring every aspect of photography into one package. My photojournalism experience allows me to catch candid moments, and I love to mix that with a classic look. Each wedding is a new experience and I love the challenge that they bring.
